Hello from PLUCK

Japonicas has scattered its seedlings at PLUCK!

PLUCK is a beautiful little boutique, along the Haji lane,
housing a lovely collection of both vintage and new home furnishings and accessories
as well as jewellery and apparel by local and overseas designers.
In order to complete your shopping experience, PLUCK also has a small little ice cream parlour
that serves homemade ice cream and delectable desserts! How thoughtful! :)

Mary took leave to accompany me in the delivery of our blooms to PLUCK. How nice of her ! :)
Aisah, the owner of this beautiful and stylish boutique, is kind enough to
let Japonicas occupy the space right at the entrance of the shop. :)

I have decided on using this stunning reindeer display (from Canada),
well, which seems very appropriate at this time of the year. :)
Love the way the rings are placed on the horns, bracelet at the neck and
necklaces over the body of the reindeer!

We get ourselves busy with tagging and displaying the Japonicas,
while Aisah served some ice cream to her very early customers!
I have crafted three one-of-a-kind pieces for PLUCK and many other blooms are
exclusive to this lovely boutique as well :)
You will also find our new blooms at PLUCK in future!

You definitely have to visit this beautiful boutique to check out our
blooms and the wonderful handmade items this lovely shop has to offer!
No worries about getting unique gifts for your loved ones this Christmas! :)
Now grab a few of your girl friends and head to PLUCK this weekend! :)

Japonicas blooming in The Shop

Japonicas is now blooming in The Shop at the Arts House!
We are so happy that Japonicas have found a good home! :)

Ace and I had an enjoyable time preparing our little 'booth' in The Shop.
We took quite a while searching for the perfect white shelf, props,
preparing paperwork and designing Japonicas exclusive to The Shop.
Love the branch-like candle display with sparrows where I have placed the floral rings!
Shopping and picking the rings will be like plucking flowers from the tree! LOL!
We have displayed little pots of green and white bird cage on the shelf
and we love the results! Hope you enjoy it too! :D

Do pop by to say hello to the fresh blooms when you are free!
Well, we are really happy that our Japonicas found their first home! :)

New on the shelf :)

Our new batch of Japonicas.
Come on join me in the garden now! :)

Just to share with you some of my favorites in this release~

La ou est mon moineau?
Where is my sparrow?

An empty cage.
Where has the sparrow gone?

A nostalgic minature vintage bird cage.
So delicate and well made.
Love the rustic appearance; vintage marks and peeling paint.
Simply cannot irresistable.
Measures about 1.8 inch.

The birdcage is nicely sized and light weighted, very tasteful indeed.
The door of the birdcage can swing open and close.
Stretch your creativity and include some of your favorite things inside this cage.
A door key? A lip stick?

This whimsical rustic burnt bird cage dangles gracefully
beneath a petite pink rose bud and swavorski ivory pearl.

Bunny Diary.

So soft, so gentle, so feminine.
Love the delicate and soft touch of this charming necklace.

This little bunny lives in the whimsical rose garden hidden inside the magical book locket.
The combination looks ridiculously dainty, classy, and romantic.

Vous Ítes mon destin.
You are my destiny.

A stunning miniature ring.
A beauty on its own!
Love the sparkle from this stunning huge stunning rhinestone.
Definitely an attention seeker.
One side of ring is littered with glistening crystals.
Measures about half an inch.

Dangles gracefully alongside with a hand stamped and hand antiqued tag.
'Vous Ítes mon destin' which means 'You are my destiny'.

The combination looks ridiculously expensive and classy, simple and elegant.

Alice in the Wonderland.

A story.
A definite favorite for fantasy and fairytale fans!

Victorian fleur etching details on the edges of locket.
Measures a little more than an inch.
A whimsical pocket watch face charm dangles gracefully on the cover of the book locket.
Something that the bunny holds in his hand in the story.

A pearly shell bunny shaped charm that hangs gracefully above the combination.
This character pops right out from the book!

Hope you like some of my recommendations!! :)

Some pictures we took in UK! Enjoy!

Here are a few shots Ace took with his new toy (Canon 1000D, which I bought him!) in UK :)

Prints are available if you would love to take them home! :)

My favorite! Kinda obvious why!! lol...

Don't you think that it looks like one of the creatures in ICE AGE?

Whimsical and dream-like! Guess what is this?

Wishing Tree.
Almost like one of my creation!
Hammer a coin into the tree trunk which will grant you a wish!

My Favorites

Absolutely gorgeous and my pride! Much prettier in person.
My favorite and most delightful piece for now :)

A gorgeous and realistic peachy coral reddish rosebud with darker shades of leaves at the bottom of the bud. The rosebuds are almost real and
they are very rare! Each of them are handmade and unique in their very own
way :) Totally heart it!

The rosebud is lovingly accompanied with a medium sized, antiqued
brass, victorian styled heart shaped locket. A suitable size to place the
photos of your loved ones and to be worn eveyday, so close to your
heart :) I love lockets, as they are so wonderful and meaningful,
absolutely nostasgic and whimsical. You can include a photo in the locket
and give it to your loved one. It will be such a meaningful gift. :)

I have included two pieces of leaves, one antiqued brass with slightly
rougher texture over a slender and smooth brass one. Complementing each
other in texture, color and size. Wonderful :)

An vintage and whimsical angel wing. Just like the Little Prince's Rose, just a smaller version. Love that gorgeous vintage wing!

This gorgeous combination hungs gracefully on a gorgeous antiqued
brass chain. I love the uniqueness of this chain. Absolutely dainty and
stunning! This chain is tailed with a flower clasp, a signature for
Japonicas' fine work of art :)

Ross is definitely one of my favorites and pride!

A gorgeous and realistic two tones, blushing pink and white rosebud
lovingly accompanied with a string of medium sized, sea blue glass beads
and tailed with white melon glass beads. The color combination is
absolutely stunning, dainty and classy :) Silver plated wire is used to
connect each of the bead and you wll get excellent workmanship, I promise :)

I am thrilled with the existence of the hollow transparent blow glass
bead, which kicks in a little surprise and an excitement to the necklace :)

This gorgeous combination hungs gracefully on a dainty rodhium silver
toned designer's chain, resistant to tarnish and sturdy. This chain is
tailed with a flower clasp, a signature for Japonicas' fine work of art :)
Classy, Dainty, Whimsical, Feminine, Signature.

Marie Anotoinette inspired piece.

Imagine wearing it whilst drinking Jasmine tea from pretty floral
china cups and eating fondant fancies...

The pendant consists of a gorgeous and dainty blushing pink rose
seated on a white snowflake-like filigree. A teardrop seafoam glass bead
dangles gracefully beneath. I heart the color combination, so whimsical!

This combination is lovingly accompanied with a chain made up of
swavorski white pearls, very feminine and elegant. I have included two
pink glass rosebud beads with the pearls to enhance the daintiness and
they appears just gorgeous!

This chain is tailed with a flower clasp, a signature for Japonicas'
fine work of art :)

It's Jet's Day! Yipee!

Looking for me? I went skiving! Hahaha! :P

Well, I was almost completely drained after the bazaar at Plaza Singapura.
Hence, my birthday was the best excuse for me to take a short break and enjoy! Yeah! :)

Such an adorable cartoon by Mary to kick-start my wonderful and exciting day! :)

I received an invitation from Ace a couple of days before my birthday.
Was wondering what is he up to this time!
We probably have exhausted all our creative ideas!

This is my birthday surprise! A chalet BIG enough to house many!

Treasure hunting in progress...
I need to follow the clues to hunt down my presents in the chalet! How fun!

My presents!! Finally! Love them!
Ace probably see that I am pretty into Little Miss XXX tees lately.
Hence, he created these characters who are supposed to reflect my traits.
Hahaha! What is that supposed to mean? :D

I am back! Fully recharged and never more eager to create more! :)

A super adorable piece of drawing to kick-start my new year :)
Lovingly drawn by a very close friend of mine, Mary, how thoughtful!
As Ace was admiring the picture, my eyes were dancing through all these 'watermelon' headed characters...
It wasn't hard to spot me in the picture afterall, but...
what about the rest...

Ace and I worked through each character,
'examining' every clue that is intentionally and carefully drawn to lead us to the final answer! exciting! :)
Finally, we managed to solve the 'mystery'! Yipee! :)

Mary loves to draw, well, for as long as I can remember.
As I eyeballed her daily sketches in her blog,
I came to realise that she has surpassed the phase of 'thinking what or how to draw'.
She now draws what she thinks.
I admire her for that. :)

Do take a look at her blog and admire her beautiful artwork.

A Pleasant Surprise from DashingBlue!

A pleasant surprise from a lovely buyer, also a new found friend, DashingBlue.
This is the lady who visited and patronized my humble little stall numerous times :)
A picture we took at our stall outside Plaza Singapura.

Check out the article she wrote about her pleasant shopping experience with Japonicas. :) I laughed about her little internal struggle on which necklace to purchase!
So adorable! :)

This is one of her purchase, The Giving Tree.
I am glad to know that our japonicas are in good hands :)
Thank you DashingBlue!
We hope to see you and your boyfriend again! :)

Happiness is worth leaping for!

A beautiful year ahead, beaming with much challenges and opportunities.

I have never feel so carefree ever in my 26 years of life! :)

I have always believed that many things we regret in our lives,
are usually things we have regreted not doing rather than what we have done.

So always try and keep trying!
Whenever there is an opportunity, there will be hope!

In this new year, Ace and I wish you and your loved ones happiness and good health! :)

My Favorites

The Little Prince's Rose

You are beautiful, but you are empty. One could not die for you.
To be sure, an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you
- the rose that belongs to me.

But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of you other roses:
because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe;
because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen;
because it is for her that I have killed the caterpillars;
because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled,
or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing.
- The Little Prince

I feel sad for the rose for not being able to follow her beloved prince to explore the different planets.
Wondering what would happen if this beautiful rose has wings of its own.
And I have decided to make this necklace to see how it how far it will go...

The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is a short moral tale about a relationship between a young boy and a tree in a forest.
The tree and the boy become best friends.
The tree always provides the boy with what he wants: branches to swing from,
shade to sit under, apples to snack on, branches to build a house.
As the boy grows older and older he requires more and more of the tree.
The tree loves the boy very much and gives him anything he asks for.
In the ultimate act of self-sacrifice, the tree lets the boy cut her down
so the boy can build a boat in which he can sail.
The boy leaves the tree, now a stump.
Many years later, the boy, now an old man, returns and the tree says,
"I have nothing left to give you."
The boy replies that all he needs is a quiet place to sit and rest.
The tree happily obliges.

Tasteful! A petite bow with a frosty brass tree charm hanging gracefully below it.
Giving tree, a generous tree with plenty to give (gifts), hence I included the bow.
Wear this chain to remind you of this tale and not to forget to be grateful to people who love you.
Classy, Magical, Signature.

Where is my Sparrow?

My absolute favourite, second after the Little Prince's Rose. Utterly gorgeous!
I have been wearing this chain for many days now, a definite attention seeker!
Many has asked about this chain, I simply simply love it!

The birdcage comes in brass, appears so delicate and well made that I am totally fascinated by it!
I made it into a necklace almost as soon as I got hold of this birdcage.
Simply cannot resist the charm, an absolute beauty indeed!

The birdcage is very well sized and light weighted, hence is doesn't look bulky at all.
More elegant and tasteful instead!
The door of the birdcage can be moved up and down!
You can even stretch your creativity and include some of your favorite things inside this cage.
Lovely, isn't it?
Anyway, I think the birdcage itself looks fabulous enough to be worn alone.
Hence I simply top it with a blushing pink colored rosebud to enhance its elegance and daintiness.

I am absolutely fascinated by this chain and I hope you do too!

Japonicas make a comeback this Christmas!
Meeting wonderful people and making marvellous friends!

Here stood my humble little stall, right in the middle of a tentage at atrium,
just outside Plaza Singapura Shopping Mall this Christmas.

Pure white setting is still my favorite, simply heart it!
It symbolizes Japonicas, the white wind flowers and is easily recognized by friends of Japonicas!

New blooms meeting the world, in time to celebrate the festive season. =)

Yummy cakes and donuts for sale! Do they set your stomach growling in hunger?!

Hmm...even a baby boy showed his interest in my Japonicas! Woah!

My good friend Betsy's stall just next to mine!
Being a busy bee, she was here only to setup and close her stall everyday.
I had plenty of fun with her Knotty (Naughty??) staff though!

Betsy is the founder of Knotty Bicsie, who also loves to create with her hands, just like me =)
Check out her gorgeous website and the creative things she does!

My "party" ends with a mini celebration cum gathering at Sakae nearby.
I am most most most grateful for all the kindness my loved ones have showered me this Christmas!

I am thankful to my dear friends (old and new) who visited me once, twice, thrice,
or countless times at my tiny little stall.
They really make the 14 days much easier to endure! =)

Just to share with you some encouragement I received this Christmas, from my new found friends.
You know who you are! =P

"It is tough narrowing down my choices, believe me I would buy most of your stock if I could!!!"

"Thx so much...I think your creation captured my heart..."

"Just wanted to tell you how happy I am to discover your little store today. :) I am very happy with my purchases today. They were beautiful and I can't help admiring them even when I am at home. :)"

Not forgetting one who came by many times and took a picture with me using her camera!

And many many many more who have "threatened" to buy my entire stall!!
Well, in fact I wish you did, so that I can hibernate for the rest of the winter! Haha!

I sincerely hope that my Japonicas have touched you in their very own way,
that you are just as excited to have stumbled into my humble little stall
as you may have imagined meeting Santa this Christmas.

I thank "U" for your support
and your contribution to a very very memorable Christmas for me!
This is the best present ever!

Thank you! Muacks! =P

Christmas Fair

Do drop by to say hello :)

McDull & Me

I am often touched by this little fellow - McDull

McDull is an intellectually challenged kid.
Being less smart, he is more believing and naive.
He saw some fishes on his way to school one day.
He then expressed his interest to rear a tiny little fish to his mom.
His mom casually agreed to give him one should he score for his upcoming quiz.
For this reason, McDull studied extremely hard.
Determined and believing.
Well, he managed to pass and his mom, being caught by surprise,
gave him a fish ball from her dinner.
She told him that a fish will eventually hatch from the fish ball
should he be gentle and take great care of it.
McDull was thrilled and he began to bring this little fish ball in a little fish tank to wherever he goes:
school, canteen, playground, dinner table, bathroom and even to bed!
McDull never failed to keep an eye on this fish ball.
Touched by his kind little boy, McDull's mom then exchanged the fish ball
with a tiny little fish when McDull was sound asleep one night.
Yes, you can imagine how satisfied and grateful McDull was when he discovered the little fish!

Well, in a way I can relate so much to McDull.
His harmlessness, his silliness, his kindness and his thoughfulness.
There is nothing wrong being soft and naive, being selfless and believing.
Hold no grudges against this poor fellow for trying to integrate to this harsh society.
Blame perhaps not him, but his peers, his family and the society.

Believe in yourself and trust your beliefs, no matter how the others perceive you.
Perhaps dreams are about to come true!

Catching a breather...YIPEE!

Life has always been unreasonably good for me!
For that, I believe I can only repay such kindness by doing more good
and appreciating even the smallest things. For that, I have reminded myself to always see
like a child, to laugh like kookaburra, to cry like rain,
to jump as if you have wings and to believe...

Happiness is contagious, don't be surprised that it can spread just like wild fire!

My dream doggie though now I am living with two silly teenage cats. Shhh...

Japonicas website going live!

Another milestone towards achieving my dreams...
Hope that this simple website can bridge between you and japonicas.

My humble little workspace

One fine day, I feel that I can no longer contain the excitement
about my budding "japonicas" that I need to do something for them!
Hence, I revamped my room to include a little workspace which turns out to be
a splendid sunbathing place for my "japonicas". I longed for my "japonicas" to be
matured and slowly gain exposure to be well appreciated by many others.
For this belief, I continued with my numerous late nights
where I sat at this humble little workspace
by the window.

Birth of Japonicas

The birth of Japonicas is during the dusk of year 2007.
I recalled working till late hours and squeezing the last ounce of my brain juice to design
and create accessories that are natural, exciting and interesting. I have planted hope in all my
"japonicas" (referring to my creations) that they will be fine enough to bring "uh huh" to the
faces of anyone when being tabled on my little booth. It was hard to part with them though.
Nevertheless, I slowly learn that japonicas are meant to take greater heights, to fly...

The two days' experience is good enough to set me smiling for weeks.
While the seed of japonica continues to germinate in my heart after that event,
I believe that one day it will grow and bloom into something which can give me pride and purpose.
I keep my fingers crossed as I worked towards achieving that belief.
